From what I’ve heard, spyware is mandated on all devices (computers, phones, etc.) manufactured by Chinese companies. This would include Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, etc. and of course Huawei. It is safe to assume that anything that happens in China, or that involves Chinese citizens abroad is under the control of the Chinese government and/or military, as well as being surveilled by the NSA. It’s also worth noting the presence of Chinese police stations in the United States.
Since Foxconn, who makes Apple devices, operates in China and Taiwan, I’m not sure if they are subject to this mandatory installation of spyware. With all the surveillance programs by various governments that are in place, it’s kind of irrelevant.
