Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2020 Deals

Christina has some good videos, and most of the Strategies have short videos built in. It is shiny, and I think it’s a keeper.

You may be right!
I’m on the free trial like I said but at $4/month (billed annually) it’s not a huge hurdle.

So I’ve heard people swear by Default Folder X, but I never could quite figure out its value. What do you love about it?

The basic is that I can set a default folder for each app, so Audio Hijack always saves to ~/Music/Audio Hijack/ as does Fission as does Levelator, so I never have to click around.

I can also like being able to set Favorite folders that I use frequently and can access with a keyboard shortcut.

+1 for CodeRunner - I use it for almost all my scripting.

Is that a good price? I’ve just ordered an M1 Macmini, and may need a dock in the near future, I won’t know until this sale price is long gone though.

Are separate licenses needed for each OS?
I’ll be going between Mac and Windows once my Macmini arrives. I don’t want to hassle with a KVM, I’ll need something like this to connecte between the two OSS from one keyboard /mouse.

It’s regularly $319 I believe. I’m considering it but I can’t imagine using more than 2-3 ports at once.

Also great is the recent files/folder feature. When I need to attach files to an email or go back to a project I worked an hour earlier, it is all right there

ARGH! @JohnAtl this looks so beautiful!

Is this your task manager of choice?

Looks really nice, no apps though.
That’s a deal killer for me…

I’ve just started using it, and did the one-year subscription. I think it’s going to be The One. With all the different Strategies and Workflows, it can be customized to ones will, so i should be able to put all my projects and tasks in it, then change its capabilities as my needs change, and as I learn the system.

They have iOS, and Android apps, and desktop apps for Linux, Windows and Mac.

Totally missed that on the site!
Checking it out now

Thanks @JohnAtl

Thanks for the tip – I’ve been looking for an alternative to Script Editor.

… was just about to press “buy” when a little voice said “check our Setapp”. Sure enough, CodeRunner is part of Setapp. So your prompt saved me 100%

Really tempted to buy DevonThink now with this offer. Do they only do this kind of promotion once a year or more often? Currently in the process of ditching Evernote and not sure if I really want to jump ship with DevonThink or try a Finder/Hazel/Keyboard Maestro solution for my documents first?? Ahh decisions

Devonthink have been taking part in a seasonal discount action (springfest summerfest etc), so no reason to haste your decision on jumping ship

Photo geotagging tool HoudahGeo is 30% off through Monday.

HoudahGeo adds GPS locations to photos. It writes location information without loss or image quality to JPEG files and most RAW formats.

HoudahGeo can also assign locations to photos in the Apple Photos library.

HoudahGeo adds future-proof geotags to your photos. This allows photo cataloging software and online services to organize and later find photos by location.

Seeing a bird’s-eye view of where you took your photos gives the photos context and lets you retrace the route you took between photos. This adds to the “story” of a photo and helps you relive and recount your adventures.

I recommend you fully use their trial period to test it out. They also have a responsive forum for bug reporting and questions.
