DXO is offering Black Friday discounts of up to 50% on its various photo processing tools.
If you are a Lightroom or Photoshop user, I highly recommend PureRaw 4 for raw conversion rather than Adobe’s Lightroom or Camera Raw, especially if you use a Fuji camera with an X-Trans filter or shoot a lot of high-ISO images.
PhotoLab 8, DXO’s full photo editing product takes a different approach to photo processing than Lightroom and doesn’t offer a real equivalent to Lightroom Classic’s catalogue management tools. I’m a practiced Lightroom user, so I was never able to get really comfortable with it, but it’s good, and not a subscription product.
You can download a free trial of most DXO products if you want to test before you buy.
I tired PhotoLab 8, and didn’t really like it. I do not think I gave it a fair shake though, since everything I tried just made me like Lightroom more. I am really tempted to pick up PureRaw 4 though, so thanks for posting. (But I just bought a tripod on sale, as well as a new lens, so my photography budget is kind of drained right now.)
Things is 30% off tomorrow through December 2nd:
I bought Things like, maybe 5 years ago and I’m still using it everyday. I think I should just use my daughter’s iPhone and buy it again. Just to support them.
I have been using Reminders but the Things 3 discount is making me think if I should try it. My pain point last time was that I couldn’t see my tasks from Things 3 on my calendar (Fantastical).
Cleft notes has a special price until the end of the week $29 down from $89 for an annual subscription. I used it when it was a little less mature and didn’t feel I got value out of it at full price. It’s gotten a lot better since then - i.e. it’s now out of beta - and I just signed up.
DropDMG, EagleFiler, SpamSieve are all 25% off. As in the past, the developer has also published a long list of other deals and links to other lists of deals.
I happen to know that Dashlane, an outstanding password manager, is 50% off its usual $60 a year subscription. It includes a VPN (Hotspot Shield) as well. Just use the code PREM24BF at checkout.
I’ve mentioned them twice on these forums, I feel like I should be getting a percentage at this point.
Apptorium (SideNotes, FiveNotes, Workspaces, Cursor Teleporter) is doing around 40-50% off their apps the next 7 days.
Beautiful looking website. Interesting apps.
Apparent Software is holding a 50% sale on all apps, including the oft-recommended on MPU Trickster (fast access to recently edited/opened files), Cashculator (personal finance with planning) and others.
