For me the opposite- I miss Touch ID
Touch ID in the upper button or whatever is called is nifty
Weird question. Has anyone here ever upgraded their Apple Watch on Xfinity Mobile, using a watch purchased directly from Apple?
Xfinityâs website isnât clear on this. For phones, they allow BYOD, but only for a new line, not for an existing line. And you do have to have an available line on the account to bring your own watch.
I do, so I suppose I could always add the watch as a new line, then cancel the line for the old watch â but itâd be great if I could just move the existing plan to the new one.
If I get a new watch, Iâll want to get it directly from Apple. Xfinity isnât yet offering the 6, plus Appleâs quoting a good trade-in value on my Series 4.
Lol, so, you still buying that mini pro lol.
Curious whether that portends an iPad Pro update to an A14x before the end of the year.
Also now the Air is much more distinct from the entry level iPad. Seems like the new Air is basically a stripped down pro. Itâs interesting the displays are slightly different between pro and air (11" vs 10.9"), but the overall dimensions are almost identical. Youâd think reusing the same panels would be cheaper.
Highlights for me were the fitness+ and new watch bands. Series 6 is really tempting but my 4 is just fine, Iâm not sure the Blood Oxygen is worth the upgrade. But dang, $99 for the braided band is pricey! Early Christmas present? Or I may have to wait for the knockoffs to show up on Amazon.
Iâve never owned an iPad, but the iPad Air looks nice. The distinctions confuse me. As a MacBook Air user, to me the âairâ would mean it is thinner but it appears thicker than the plain iPad. Maybe the non-rounded edges just deceive me.
Overall a pretty good show, I enjoyed the âIt already does thatâ video as well.
The current MacBook Air is thicker than the 13" MacBook Pro.
In the current iPad line âAirâ is just the designator for their middle of the road model. Better than the base model iPad, but not as expensive as the iPad Pro.
Pulled the trigger on the Series 6 Apple Watch Nike (40mm, Cellular). Ships by the end of this week, expected arrival Sept. 25-29.
My series 2 will still go 24 hrs between charges, so Iâm still happy with it. But if I didnât already have a hospital grade pulse oximeter the O2 level function would be very tempting.
I am as well. Note that they still include the charging puck, itâs just the 5-W charger which, at this stage, everybody has. And if you donât, you find them on Amazon for $5.
Not including a charger is a blunder. Itâs cheapness from Apple. If so they should do it across the board. None of the Apple devices (iPad, Mac, MacBooks, iMac, Apple WatchâŚ) every one which needs power should come without the power adapter. Granted that everyone has few lying in their homes. But thats not a generalization. There are always customers who are purchasing for the first time.
I hear the argument â If you are buying an iPhone then you should be able to afford an adapter. My response to them is Yes I can ONLY afford an iPhone with the cost of the power adapter included.
Same here. Iâm not a big fan of FaceID. The way I prefer to hold my iPad covers the camera. And Iâm S.O.L. when in the car and need Siri to look up an address and all I get is âyou have to unlock your iphone . . .â
I agree. And at their volume an extra couple of dollars per unit will really add up. I wouldnât be surprised if everyone from the E.U. to some U.S. states attorney generals have something to say about it.
In the EU, I would say that this would be environmentally welcomed, on the contrary.
This would not make sense. Phones and tablets are powered by classical USB bricks of which everybody has dozens lying around. (And if you donât have one because youâre a first-time buyer? Heck, ask anyone about you, who has dozens to spare.) Laptops use much more specialised power bricks which are not near as standard.
I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, we do have lots of cables. It does seem wasteful to provide more. On the other hand, the cables get worn out after a time, and they are expensive to replace. I have a drawer full of cables, some of which work great others not so much. So, Iâm always excited when I get a new device because I finally have a great charging cable again. Itâs the one cable that I can always trust to work.
Maybe Apple could give you a new cable at the time of purchase, if you traded an old cable.
Apple is still providing a charging cable with every Apple Watch. Itâs just the power brick theyâre leaving out.
Oh, okay. I retract my prior statements. I now agree in that have have an over abundance of the bricks. Except the high-speed charger that came with my iPhone 11 Pro. That thing is the most coveted piece of technology we have in our home.
Agree. Relatively speaking the best charger from Apple
